NEWS: Driving Innovation & Growth in SMEs: Highlights from the DIGITRANS Meeting

The June 2025 DIGITRANS Partnership Meeting in Athens brought together key stakeholders to share ideas, review strategies, and unlock new opportunities for SME digital transformation across the region. Over the course of two productive days, we exchanged innovative ideas, reviewed regional strategies, and explored opportunities to foster greater collaboration aimed at driving digital growth across the region.

We evaluated the current landscape of innovation ecosystems, placing special emphasis on the role of innovation intermediaries and how regional policies can better facilitate the adoption of digital tools and new technologies by SMEs. Our discussions centered on strengthening support mechanisms, sharing best practices, and identifying the fundamental drivers needed to ensure sustainable digital development.

A key highlight was our visit to Corallia’s Innohub, demonstrating how regional hubs can accelerate SME innovation.

The meeting also addressed future policy directions and cross-border cooperation strategies, all aimed at creating a robust framework for SME development in an increasingly digital and competitive landscape.
